In the Ordinance on Producer Responsibility for Packaging (SFS 2014:1073), packaging is defined as any construction that is used to contain, protect, deliver or present goods. This means that all forms of packaging are included.
Consumer packaging can include cans, ketchup bottles and milk cartons.
Transport packaging includes stretch and shrink film, plastic and metal strip, and corrugated boxes.
Industrial packaging includes metal and plastic drums, rolls and sacks.
Secondary packaging is the layer of packaging that groups several products together at the point of sale, and can be removed without affecting the performance of the products.
Please remember that accessories such as lids, bottle caps and plastic chips are also packaging.
